Ocmis Appointed for Royal Plain Water Feature Installation in Lowestoft Seafront Vision Project
Ocmis are pleased to announce our involvement in the exciting Lowestoft Seafront Vision project as the appointed water feature specialist for the Royal Plain area.
We initially collaborated with renowned design teams Hemingway Design and Untitled Practice, contributing water feature designs at RIBA Stages 3 & 4. Following the successful completion of this design phase, Ocmis has now been appointed by the principal contractor, Blakedown Landscapes, to supply and install the new water feature as part of the revitalisation of Royal Plain.
The project will see the removal of the existing fountain, which will be replaced with a state-of-the-art jet feature that incorporates the latest in fountain technology and enhanced water treatment solutions. The new design will include multiple vertical jets, each fitted with dedicated RGB LED lighting, allowing for dynamic and vibrant displays that will captivate visitors. The fountain technology is being supplied by Oase, a leading manufacturer known for their innovative and reliable systems.
The Lowestoft Seafront Vision project is part of the £24.9 million Towns Fund regeneration initiative led by East Suffolk Council. The broader initiative aims to rejuvenate key areas of Lowestoft, with the Royal Plain set to become a central attraction, enhanced by new lighting, seating, and landscaping.
Dan Haines, Creative Water Lead at Ocmis Ltd, commented: “We are thrilled to be part of this transformative project, bringing our expertise in water feature design and installation to the heart of Lowestoft’s seafront. The new fountain will not only enhance the aesthetics of Royal Plain but also provide a dynamic visual experience for residents and visitors alike.”
The project is expected to be completed during 2025. Stay tuned for further updates as we bring this exciting vision to life.
