Established in 1909, Northamptonshire County Golf Club in Church Brampton is a renowned venue, hosting events like the regional qualifiers for The Open Championship and County Pro-Am tournaments. The club’s course is a classic heathland layout and is ranked among the Top 100 Golf Clubs in the UK.

To enhance the course’s maintenance and playability, the club engaged Adrian Mortram of AMA Associates to design a comprehensive irrigation system. This design included full irrigation coverage to the greens, tees, surrounds, approaches and fairways.

Ocmis were selected by the club to install the new system. The system utilised Toro irrigation equipment, including the top-serviceable Infinity sprinklers throughout the course, as well as the Flex-35B sprinklers for certain tees and PRN-TA sprinklers along the walkways.

The installation took place during the winter of 2022, with close collaboration between Ocmis and Rob Hay, the course manager. In addition to the course irrigation, Ocmis designed and installed a new transfer system, which draws water from the nearby river to the club’s existing reservoir. A filtration system was integrated to prevent debris from entering the system, while a dry-sited pump and controls were installed in compliance with the club’s water abstraction license.

This irrigation upgrade ensures Northamptonshire County Golf Club maintains it’s high standards while operating efficiently and sustainably.
